Healthy Bones Australia receives funding for critical health pilot

Healthy Bones Australia has received a grant from the Federal Department of Health from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF)* to conduct a research pilot with GPs. The project will review a national approach to fracture prevention. Working with select GP sites over 2 years, the project will analyse data and evaluate outcomes from a new intervention approach to improve patient management practices.

Healthy Bones Australia CEO Greg Lyubomirsky says “many patients with osteoporosis currently go un-diagnosed which can lead to unwanted broken bones. This targeted pilot research project aims to provide evidence for better solutions to improve patient care.”

*MRFF provides grants and financial support to support health and medical research and innovation to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians.
