Rural Doctors and Nurses Conference

Healthy Bones Australia (HBA) provided an information booth at the Regional Nurses and Doctors Conference hosted at Crowne Plaza Coogee, Sydney, on 24-25 November 2023, as part of Rural Health Month.

The event was attended by the Hon. Emma McBride, Assistant Minister for Rural and Regional Health. The Minister visited the HBA booth and received the latest edition of our GP magazine, showing the Minister on the cover launching HBA’s Community Risk Report at Parliament House in Canberra at the end of October.

Rural Doctors and Nurses provide critical services to our regional communities, often working with limited staff and resources. The Conference provided an important opportunity for education and networking with expert presentations around core health issues.

HBA showcased online primary health nurse’s education, GP professional resources and online consumer information for regional health professionals. Mobile bone density testing services have helped numerous regional communities improve osteoporosis investigation; many GPs appreciate this service.
